WELCOME
TO THE MUMBLES GREEN
ACTION TEAM (MGAT)
Would
you like to help with environmental projects in and
around Mumbles? We have a few events lined up, which
we would love for you to take part in.
The Mumbles Green Action Team (MGAT) is
working with Mumbles Development Trust and Broadleaf
Woodland Enterprise (BWE), a community interest company
based at our Norton Leisure Garden site,
to take on the management of the local woodlands, as
well as securing contracts in other areas in and around
Swansea. It will also host a variety of community workshops
in environmental subjects, crafts and
healthy living.
Mumbles
Green Action Team - Newsletter – November 2007
The beautiful colours of Autumn are even more alive
this year, seems all that rain was a
blessing after all!
This
was the scene in Clyne Valley Country Park recently
when some of
us here at Mumbles Development Trust did the Mumbles
Way Walk.
It really is a beautiful walk, any weather, any season
The walk planned for the volunteers on Saturday October
27th was well supported. We
hope that by next spring, the Mumbles Way Walk will
be a fully guided walk, offered at a
small charge, supported by leaflets and signage.
The last two months have seen a big increase in the
number of Green Action Team
members. Although our activities have been fairly well
supported, we are always looking
for more participants:
Tell us - Why did you join the Green Action
Team?
What type of activity would you like to get involved
in?
You can let us know by email at: mdtmumbles@btinternet.com
by post to: MGAT, Ty Hanes, 4 Dunns Lane,
Mumbles, SA3 4AA
or telephone: 01792 361012
Your comments would be greatly appreciated.
The other events in October, the Market and the site
clearance on the Second World War
gun emplacements Mumbles Hill were very well supported,
thanks.
We are planning some events for the New Year, including
family woodland workshops, bird
box making, guided walks, looking after back lanes,
and the good old litter picks! Keep up
to date as always here on our website.
If you are looking to do some volunteering with us,
we have some more events for you to
get involved with, see below and contact us if you need
any more info. Remember, if you
would like to be taken off the mailing list just let
us know. Hope to see you soon,
Robin Bonham
